These 3BHK Twin Bungalows in Ahmedabad were designed for two families living side by side. Conceptualized and designed by Rushabh Consultancy, Architects in Ahmedabad, the villas are gorgeous to look at from the inside and the outside. The brief was to create a bungalow that was one with nature and to incorporate greenery into the design. Today, we will only tour the exterior of this home, so let’s begin.

The bird’s eye view

The homes are located amidst a lot of greenery. We can see from this view that the homes are a mirror image of each other. The design begins with sloped roofs in the entrance, and then it gives way to two large buildings.  The mirror image design idea works quite well here, because the client requested that the houses be similar. The colour scheme used on the outside is a simple mix of white and brown with some ochre thrown in to give it an elegant look.

Up close

The houses are placed side by side, so the entrances are right next to each other. The front yard for both the homes is a shared space, as is the entry into the common compound. The front yard is paved with grey and white tiles to create a beautiful geometric pattern. Wrought iron benches are placed right by the entrance to the homes to create a fun, intimate seating area.

Side view

The entrance to the shared compound is common, and thereafter, the design efficiently and easily divides into two different homes. The compound is divided into two parts, with a parking space for vehicles on either side of the bungalow. The verandas are also similar in terms of design and style. We do love the sloped and tiled roof placed in the entrance area. It gives the  homes a rustic, and old school look, which is very stylish and elegant.

The façade

The façade has been kept quite simple. There are two levels in both the houses. The exterior has been painted a gorgeous shade of ochre, which catches the eye. Each of the windows on the outside has been given its own little roof made with red tiles. These tiny roofs are similar to the sloped roof we saw outside by the veranda. This small detail shows us the consistency in the overall design of the house.

One last view

Lastly, we end with a closer view of the home’s structure. The veranda has exposed brick columns supporting the ceiling, giving it a very farmhouse style look. The marble flooring outside leads up to a set of wooden doors that open into the home. We also see that large trees surround the whole compound, offering extra shade to the houses and also making the atmosphere a little bit cooler.
